The bank took home the ’20 years of excellence’ award after winning an impressive 51 trophies since the awards scheme started in 1997.

NatWest also scooped Best Direct Savings Account Provider and Best Direct Cash ISA Provider for 2017.

Post Office Money achieved this year’s Best Overall Online Provider trophy.

It was also named Best Direct Life Insurance Provider, Best Direct Car Insurance Provider, Best Online Car Insurance Provider and Best Online Home & Contents Insurance Provider.

The title of Best Overall Direct Provider for 2017 went to TSB, which bagged four awards in total, including Best Direct Current Account Provider and Best Direct Student Banking Provider.

The YourMoney.com Awards are the longest-standing consumer finance awards in the UK.

They are split into two categories: Best Direct for those products and services offered by phone, and Best Online for those provided electronically.

All entrants are subjected to a rigorous judging process based on competitiveness of price and structure. Shortlisted firms are then judged by a panel of readers who mystery shop each company and benchmark the quality of service provided in each product area.
