Major supermarkets cut petrol prices this half-term weekend
Three supermarket giants have cut pump prices by up to 2p a litre following a fall in oil costs.
The price war should see drivers pay less for filling up their cars this half-term weekend.
Here’s what’s happening and where:
Asda
Asda was first off the mark as it announced that from today, drivers will pay no more than 116.7p per litre for unleaded and 118.7p per litre for diesel as Asda operates a fuel price cap.
Morrisons
The supermarket has 333 filling stations across the UK and from midnight tonight, motorists filling up at one of these forecourts will see the cost of both fall by up to 2p per litre.
Sainsbury’s
From tomorrow, Sainsbury’s will cut the price of unleaded by up to 2p per litre and diesel by 1p a litre across its 311 forecourts. Customers will also be able to collect Nectar points (one point a litre).
