True Potential Investments, the personal finance platform, has launched the UK’s first personal finance app for the new Apple Watch.

The app allows users to invest and save direct from their device, and is aimed at non-expert investors and savers.

True Potential designed the app to bring a more strategic way of thinking to personal investment by allowing people to set financial goals, risk levels and select funds by accessing detailed information, such as performance and volatility. Users can regularly view their savings, and top-up to close any gap.

Some of the features savers and investors can manage through the app include:

  • Tracking progress against investment goals
  • Portfolio valuation in real-time
  • impulseSave technology, allowing top-ups into investments from £1

The impulseSave feature is designed to turn spenders into savers, by allowing the user to tap a button on the screen and add a minimum of £1 to savings, pensions and investment accounts. To date, over £13m has been invested via impulseSave, the bulk of it in the form of individual investments of £10 or under. The provision was named ‘Leading Innovation’ at the 2014 Aberdeen Awards.

Daniel Harrison, managing partner of True Potential Investments, said: “With technology that people use every day, such as mobile phones and now smartwatches, we can turn spenders into savers and get people in to the habit of investing. Technology such as ours proves that investing can be fast, easy and even fun.”

The True Potential Investor app is available at https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/true-potential-investor/id695613152?mt=8
