M&G kicked off the week by announcing that it is to cut fund charges for direct customers which is good news for investors, but those who have Merlin in their portfolios should be aware that it’s set to be relegated from the FTSE 100. We looked at what the professionals have been buying and why it’s time UK equity investors check what they’re buying. We also warned that over 55s are at a heightened risk of investment scams.

Pensions

Twice as many workers will save into a Lifetime ISA over their pension suggests a survey, but for those already drawing on pension benefits following the introduction of pension freedoms, the FCA proposed to cap early exit charges at 1%. Pension experts Hargreaves Lansdown this week called for a seven day pension transfer rate and we also heard about the possible effects a Brexit vote would have on your pension.
