Missed this week’s big money stories? Here’s our one minute summary of the key facts and figures from the last seven days.

Investing

The week started with the news that despite a strong start to the year it was forecast that 2016 could be the weakest year for dividend growth since 2010. With dividends in mind, we also revealed that income funds dominated the lists of best selling funds in the ISA season just past, while sentiment has turned much more negative on bond funds. Chelsea’s managing director Darius McDermott meanwhile argued that value investing is set to make a comeback

Saving & Banking

In the same week it was revealed that over 300,000 people switched their current accounts in the first quarter of 2016, it was also shown that a staggering £1bn is currently sitting in dormant bank accounts and £400m in unclaimed pension savings. We showed you the steps at how to claim your money back. In light of the news the pound has already dropped in value by 7% since the start of the year and if Brexit is realised, it could fall by another 15%, we explained how you can protect your currency if you send it abroad.

Retirement

For those of us much further away from the date of retiring, we also explained the key facts about pension tax relief that may boost your pension pot.
