Santander has launched current accounts for ‘select’ and ‘private’ customers, offering enhanced features for a £5 per month fee.

The banking giant has revealed details of its ‘select’ current account and ‘private’ current account which share similar incentives to its popular 123 current account. These include in-credit interest of 1.5% on balances up to £20,000 and up to 3% cashback on selected household bills.

Here’s what’s on offer:

Select current account: maximum ATM withdrawals of £1,000 per day, £500 fee-free overdraft, worldwide free emergency card replacement, fee-free cash withdrawals from Santander’s 37,000 cash machines worldwide as well as access to relationship managers in branches.

There’s a £5 month fee. The account is for ‘select’ customers who have investments and savings of over £75,000 with Santander, or a monthly income of more than £5,000 per month.

Private current account: maximum ATM withdrawals of £1,500 per day, £500 fee-free overdraft, worldwide free emergency card replacement, fee-free cash withdrawals from Santander cash machines abroad as well as access to relationship managers in branches.

There’s a £5 per month fee. The account is for ‘private’ customers, following the launch of Santander Private in June, providing banking and wealth management services to business owners and entrepreneurs, those with more than £500,000 or an annual income in excess of £250,000

Andy Warren, head of select & private marketing, said: “We are delighted to offer these new current accounts, as well as providing all the great benefits of our 123 current account, they are designed exclusively for customers who will benefit from the enhanced services and is a further step in helping them get a little more out of life. The launch marks an important milestone for our offering as we continue to identify opportunities to protect and grow our customers’ assets over the long-term.”
