It's a decade since the run on Northern Rock - the starting point of the global financial crisis. What have we learned and are we still living in its shadow?

This week marks the 10th anniversary of the start of the global financial markets. The sub-prime crisis in the States quickly spread to the UK and around the globe, leading to a run on savings at Northern Rock, the bailout of banks and a huge cut in interest rates.

In our video, Tom Stevenson from Fidelity International talks to YourMoney.com’s Paloma Kubiak, recalling how the crisis unfolded and how it impacted savers and investors in the UK. What lessons have been learned in the aftermath?
