Field day for ID fraudsters

Thousands of sensitive documents detailing the credit card numbers, addresses, phone numbers and signatures of guests were dumped in an open skip by  a well-known hotel in what one fraud expert described as “the biggest field day for identity fraudsters we have seen”.

 The owner of the Grand Hotel in Brighton apologised after staff threw out registration forms and credit card slips – including those of several MPs – giving details commonly used by fraudsters to steal identities and buy goods online or plunder bank accounts.
