Millions of workers face financial misery in retirement after a £150bn black hole in pension funds was revealed yesterday.

The revelation has prompted further speculation that the Government’s proposed new retirement age of 69 could be raised even higher.

The pension fund shortfall, disclosed by the investment industry, is three times bigger than previously estimated.
