Artemis has opened the offer period for three of the five funds it intends to launch for the former Threadneedle US equities team led by Cormac Weldon and Stephen Moore.

Running until 22 September, the week-long offer period will feature the Artemis US Equity, US Select and US Extended Alpha funds.

Weldon (pictured), who joined from Threadneedle this summer, will lead manage US Equity and US Select. The former will invest in 65 to 80 large and mid-cap stocks, with the aim of outperforming the S&P 500, while Select will hold 45-55 firms from across the market spectrum.

US Extended Alpha, meanwhile, will employ a 150/50 structure by investing across around 150 long and short positions. The fund is managed by Stephen Moore and fellow ex-Threadneedle recruit William Warren.

Artemis intends to launch two further US equity funds – US Smaller Companies and US Absolute Return – for the team.

Weldon, Moore and Warren will be supported by four other ex-Threadneedle team members: analysts Paul Gannon, Nafis Chowdhury, Olivia Miller and Chris Kent.
