Tesco Bank took home the best overall online provider trophy at the YourMoney.com Awards 2016, which recognise the efforts of companies offering the best products and services to consumers.

Tesco also scooped the prize for Best Online Life Insurance Provider, Best Online Travel Insurance Provider and Best Online Home & Contents Insurance Provider

Meanwhile, the title of Best Overall Direct Provider went to Virgin Money, which bagged five awards in total including Best Direct Stocks & Shares ISA Provider.

Now in their 19th year, the YourMoney.com Awards are the longest-standing consumer finance awards in the UK.

They are split into two categories: Best Direct for those products and services offered by phone, and Best Online for those provided electronically.

All entrants are subjected to a rigorous judging process based on competitiveness of price and structure. Shortlisted firms are then judged by a panel of readers who mystery shop each company and benchmark the quality of service provided in each product area.

YourMoney.com editor Joanna Faith said: “We had record numbers of entries this year so the winners of these awards should be justifiably proud of their achievements as they have proved they are the best of the best in their sector. Congratulations to all our winners.”
