Britons collectively spend £1.3bn a month outsourcing domestic chores, according to a survey.
The study of 2,000 UK adults found that people who pay for help with household tasks spend on average £49.50 a month.
Window and car cleaning and arranging for home delivery of groceries top the list of chores people pay someone else to do, the research by Gocompare.com found.
The survey also asked respondents about the things that they would like to do more of – but feel that they don’t have time for. Hobbies (34%), travelling (33%) and just relaxing (32%) topped the list followed by seeing friends or relatives (28%) and keeping fit (25%). Gardening (15%), DIY (13%) and housework (11%) were at the bottom of the list.
