Free lottery offers winners a lifetime of fuel

Written by:
A new lottery is giving drivers the chance to win a lifetime supply of petrol or diesel.

The reg plate lotto game is free to enter and will run each month from November to January.

The top prize is valued at £265,720, which equates to £70 of fuel each week for 73 years.

To take part in the new lottery, which is being launched by fuel information service PetrolPrices, you have to enter your DVLA-recognised vehicle registration number into the digital garage on the PetrolPrices’s website or app.

You will have to be able to confirm you are the registered keeper of the vehicle or provide proof you are responsible for the vehicle, with an insurance policy, for example.

You can sign up to enter now and the first draw will take place on 21 November.

If you keep your vehicle in the digital garage, you will be automatically pulled into the following month’s draw.

Users can, however, opt out of the next draw at any point.

The draw will be undertaken by Risq Capital, a specialist in online lotteries and prize draws.

For each draw, PetrolPrices’ list of entries will be converted into a numeric value and they draw will run against the total number of registration plates om the UK as a numeric format. If the draw doesn’t result in a winner from the list of entrants, then a random vehicle registration plate draw will automatically take place.

A spokesperson for PetrolPrices said this will be a three-month test campaign but if it is successful, it could be rolled out further.
