Mobile phone operator Three has abandoned roaming charges for customers visiting the US.

Customers can now use their minutes, texts and data allowance in the US for free under the ‘Feel At Home’ scheme.

The company has also extended the scheme to Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Macau as well as the US.

‘Feel At Home’ is now available in eleven destinations around the world including Australia, Italy and Hong Kong.

“Roaming charges have been a worry for people for too long. When travelling, we all want to make full use of our smartphones and tablets so we can capture our amazing experiences and stay in touch with friends and family,” says Dave Dyson, chief executive of Three.

‘Feel at Home’ is available to all customers on pay monthly, Pay-As-You-Go, SIM-only, mobile broadband and business plans.
