With the February half term holiday approaching, thousands of Brits will be hitting the ski slopes to catch the last of the snow. But it’s not just the younger generation that we’ll see on the slopes this season.

Research from Saga Travel Insurance found that one in 10 of the over 50s already takes part in an extreme or highly energetic sport including skiing, snowboarding or mountain climbing, and six out of 10 are keen to throw themselves into learning a new activity.

In response to this growing trend for adventure Saga warns skiers and holidaymakers to protect themselves properly on these adventurous holidays, and has recently increased its winter Sports Cover to include snowboarding (on and off-piste) snow shoeing, snow mobiling, sledging and off-piste skiing.
