If you're new to investing, our back to basics video explains the main similarities and differences between unit trusts and investment trusts.

Unit trusts and investment trusts are collective investments where they pool money to invest in a portfolio of shares. While they have a number of similarities, there are key differences.

In this eight minute video, Rob Morgan of Charles Stanley Direct talks to YourMoney.com’s Paloma Kubiak to explain more on ‘open-ended’ unit trusts and how they’re priced, as well as the benefits and disadvantages of ‘closed-ended’ investment trusts.
