What would you do with £250,000? According to research, the vast majority of us would purchase a buy-to-let property rather than invest it in the stock market.

Fidelity International, the investment firm which carried out the study, says Brits have a ‘love affair’ with property. But it points out that being a landlord is not as straightforward as many think thanks to recent rule changes and hidden costs.

In this video, Maike Currie from Fidelity talks to YourMoney.com editor, Jo Faith, about the research and about why investing in the stock market may be the easier and more cost-efficient option.
