What were the best-selling funds in May?
Private investors branched out beyond UK-focused funds in May, according to analysis by Barclays Stockbrokers.
Two property funds entered the firm’s top 20 purchased funds last month – Premier Pan European Property and Henderson UK Property, joining the popular Aberdeen Property Share fund, which was the fourth best selling product overall.
Investors also piled into European funds with the Invesco European Opportunities fund entering the top 20 list for the first time alongside the Ignis Euro Smaller Companies.
However, it was UK smaller companies funds which proved to be most popular among investors.
“The Marlborough UK Micro Cap Growth was again the most purchased fund this month, joined by four other UK smaller companies funds in the Top 20 list,” said Alastair Thaw, director at Barclays Stockbrokers.
Climbing up from ninth place last month, the Artemis High Income fund was the second most purchased fund by our clients in May.
