Two lucky Premium Bonds holders from Dorset and Buckinghamshire have scooped the life-changing £1m jackpot prize.

The first winner comes from Dorset and their bond number 469BR534389 was drawn at random for the August draw.

They held £45,000 in Premium Bonds and only bought the winning bond a year ago in August 2021.

They become Dorset’s eleventh Premium Bonds £1m jackpot winner.

Meanwhile, another lucky NS&I Premium Bonds holder from Buckinghamshire saw their number 155HJ070561 drawn by ERNIE – the Electronic Random Number Indicator Equipment.

This person holds £22,875 in Premium Bonds and they bought their winning bond in April 2009.

This win makes them the sixth Premium Bonds millionaire from Buckinghamshire.

While the millionaire winners are notified on the first working day of the month, for everyone else, you’ll have to wait until tomorrow to find out if you’re one of the 4.85 million Premium Bonds winners. There were 118.8 billion numbers eligible for the draw with prizes worth £138.6m this month.

To check if you’ve won between £25 and £100,000 in the August draw, see the NS&I prize checker, the prize checker app or via an Alexa-enabled device from Tuesday 2 August.

You’ll need your Premium Bonds holder number to check, and you can also see if you have any unclaimed prizes.

In Dorset, there are 27,649 unclaimed prizes worth £927,825. The largest unclaimed prize is £10,000 and is from the November 2019 prize draw. The oldest unclaimed prize in Dorset is from February 1964 with a value of £25.

In Buckinghamshire, there are 31,531 unclaimed prizes with a total value of £1,083,425. The largest unclaimed prize is worth £25,000 and is from the September 2020 prize draw. The oldest unclaimed prize is from October 1961 and is worth £25.

Since the first draw in June 1957, ERNIE has drawn 577 million prizes worth £23.2bn. The current annual Premium Bonds prize fund rate is 1.4%.

Jill Waters, NS&I retail director, said: “Congratulations to both our winners from Dorset and Buckinghamshire – it’s not too late for them to book the summer holiday of lifetime with their new found windfall.

“One of this month’s winners waited 12 months to win the jackpot prize, whilst the other waited more than 13 years. I’m sure that both of them were equally thrilled with the news and undoubtedly felt the unbeatable magic of Premium Bonds.”
