The code is part of a new initiative to help ease late-night travel worries for music fans, as more than a quarter (27%) of UK women said they’d attend gigs by themselves if they felt safer travelling home.
According to Strut Safe, one in five (18%) adults hesitate to reach out to loved ones when feeling unsafe on their journey home, worried they’ll be a disturbance. This figure spikes to 31% among younger Gen Z fans.
Strut Safe is a UK-wide, non-profit volunteer-operated support telephone line offering a friendly voice on the phone for those travelling or walking home alone. Anyone can call Strut Safe on 0333 335 0026.
The service has seen a 28% increase in calls over the past year. The majority of these calls come after 11pm on weekends, a crucial travel period for gig goers.
A spokesperson for Strut Safe said: “Too often, people dismiss their desire for a little support as an ‘overreaction.’ Sadly, it’s a mindset we’ve been conditioned to accept.

How to get the discount
To access the one-time code, click on ‘wallet’ in the Uber app, then ‘add voucher code’. The code is ‘ruGtzslERHA’, and can be redeemed once.
The code will get Uber used £10 off a fare for a journey taken between 8pm and 6am on any night up to 25 April. The code can only be redeemed once per Uber user.
