Aldi has launched the UK’s “cheapest school uniform” deal, with a full package costing £4.50.

The bundle, which is suitable for primary school-aged children, gets you two polo shirts, one sweatshirt and either trousers or a skirt.

It launches online from 18 July and in stores from 22 July as part of its Back to School range, which also includes PE kit and shoes.

The budget supermarket has partnered with ‘Cotton made in Africa’ (CmiA), which uses only the highest quality, sustainably sourced cotton. The range also uses recycled materials.

Julie Ashfield, managing director of buying at Aldi UK, said: “We know how financially challenging the back to school period can be, which is why just like in previous years, we’ve worked hard to offer families top quality products at the lowest possible prices.

“We’ve announced the launch of our Back to School range earlier in the summer to reassure parents that they can get their little ones kitted out for the school year early, and leave them to enjoy the rest of the summer holidays which many missed last year.”
