From now through to 19 February, the supermarket chain is giving out coupons entitling customers to 5p off every litre of fuel they buy. The customers have until Sunday 26 February to redeem the vouchers. However, there is a catch to the offer.

While the supermarket chain is offering 5p off a litre of petrol at its pumps, shoppers will have to spend £35 to be eligible for the discount. And that £35 spend excludes certain products including tobacco, lottery products and items from Morrisons Cafe.

Rachel Eyre, chief customer and marketing officer at Morrisons, said: “This fuel promotion, together with more than a thousand prices that we cut and held down in January, will make a difference to our customers’ household bills. We know that fuel is a big expense and so our fuel offer aims to help budgets go a little further.”

The company said the offers could also come in handy for families planning a half-term getaway.

The petrol discount applies to one coupon per customer per qualifying transaction.

More savings from Morrisons

In addition, Morrisons has also made its ‘Kids Eat Free’ deal permanent, available during opening hours every day in its cafes. That means that for each adult meal costing at least £4.50, one child’s meal comes free.

In January, YourMoney.com reported that Morrisons, in line with a number of its rivals, had reduced the price of 820 items to help customers with the rising cost of living.
