The first 2,000 people to sign up via a special link to the VouchedFor site will receive a free financial plan worth £500.

VouchedFor, a consumer reviews website for financial and legal professionals, has today revealed it will provide 2,000 free bespoke financial plans to UK consumers developed by its top-rated independent financial advisers in a bid to get Britain financially fit.

It comes as the New Year is typically the time when Brits are most keen to get their finances in order, especially in light of the raft of regulatory changes such as the pension and buy-to-let tax reforms.

According to VouchedFor, the majority of IFA enquiries in January (61%) have centred on taking advantage of the recent pension freedoms, transferring pension pots or people just generally wanting to set themselves up with a more comfortable retirement.

A quarter (23%) of enquiries received have related to investments and savings, fuelled by interest rate and stock market uncertainty.

How do I get a free financial plan?

There are 2,000 available and it is on a first come, first served basis.

Consumers will need to sign up to VouchedFor where they will need to provide initial details such as age, marital and employment status, household income, savings, pension and property value.

They’ll also need to list their main and other financial goals such as a comfortable retirement, to invest well, property for children or leaving a legacy.

Within two days, an IFA listed on VouchedFor will give the user a call to discuss their current financial situation and outline their goals.

Two weeks later, they will receive their free financial plan – valued at £500 – which will include a breakdown of their net worth, with suggestions on an investment strategy to help achieve their desired capital or income growth, along with the key tax and regulatory factors affecting them.

‘Helping Britain get financially fit for the year ahead’

Adam Price, managing director of VouchedFor, said: “We all want to get the New Year off to a great start and ensuring we have a robust financial plan in place is a big step here.

“At VouchedFor we are passionate about the value of great advice and that’s why we’re offering UK consumers 2,000 free financial plans produced by the top-rated advisers we work with.

“The plans will outline some key considerations which could help transform individual situations and help Britain get financially fit for the year ahead!”
