Results round up: Companies to watch this week

Tuesday 24 June

Imagination Technologies – fourth quarter results

Imagination Technologies has seen its share price slip for the past couple of years, but lately it has been more resilient. Still, the market is tough – Imagination Technologies’ margins have slipped alongside royalty and licensing revenues and key customers are switching to rivals’ technologies. When it delivers its fourth quarter results investors will be looking at the progress of the Pure division, which recently launched some well-reviewed products, and should recognise that new categories of consumer electronic devices alongside the internet should present some good opportunities.

Petrofac – first quarter trading update

Oilfield service company Petrofac will deliver its first quarter trading update on Tuesday.

Carnival Cruises – half year results

British-American owned cruise line Carnival will update the markets on its half year results on Tuesday.

Wednesday 25 June

Northgate – preliminary results

Northgate, which provides technology and services for human resources departments and public-sector organisations, will deliver preliminary results on Wednesday.

Stagecoach Group – preliminary results

Public transport provider Stagecoach Group will also deliver preliminary results on Wednesday.

Thursday 26 June

Standard Chartered – second quarter trading update

This emerging market-focused bank has been under pressure over the past year: revenue growth targets have been cut and a strategic review and restructuring took place. Good performance in Africa and Hong Kong have buoyed the company as Singapore and South Korean operations struggle. Investors will be listening for updates on trading conditions in these regions. They’ll also be interested in the effects of currency volatility and regulatory costs. The outlook for the group will also be important, particularly in Asia.

Wood Group – half year update

Oil and gas services company Wood Group, which is headquartered in Aberdeen, will discuss how it has performed over the past six months on Thursday.

Friday 27 June

Berendsen – first quarter trading update

Berendsen, which does laundry on an industrial scale for hospitals and hotels, will deliver a first quarter trading update on Friday.
