Tuesday and Wednesday are particularly action-packed this week, as companies as diverse as SSE and Sports Direct prepare to update the markets.

Monday 14 July

AVEVA Group – annual general meeting

Software provider AVEVA Group will host its annual general meeting on Monday.

Worldwide Healthcare Trust – annual general meeting

Also hosting its annual general meeting on Monday is the Worldwide Healthcare Trust.

Wednesday 16 July

British Land – first quarter results

London-based property investment company British Land will deliver its first quarter results on Wednesday. The Share Centre currently lists British Land as a hold.

Fresnillo – second quarter result

Mexican-based precious metals mining company Fresnillo will update the market on Wednesday. Deutsche recently raised its price target on the stock, believing that the improving silver price should help results.

London Stock Exchange – interim management statement

Investors in the London Stock Exchange will be focusing on updates regarding acquisitions, though it may be too soon for news on their latest venture with Russell Investments. Other areas of interest will be comments on cost cutting and the IPO market. Comment on trading volumes and general market outlook will also be of interest.

Rio Tinto – second quarter results

Rio Tinto investors will be concentrating on production and commodity price revenues in the last quarter, but they’ll also seek reassurance on various large-scale products. They’ll be hoping that the supply-demand imbalance reverses as the global economic outlook improves.

Severn Trent – interim management statement

Water company Severn Trent, currently listed as a hold by the Share Centre, will deliver its interim management statement on Wednesday.

Thursday 17 July

Anglo American – second quarter results

Investors will be hoping that Anglo American can keep up the momentum it built in the first quarter. As the company releases its second quarter results, investors will be expecting to see capital investment made into the expansion of existing mines contribute to production increases. Any commentary surrounding the industrial action in South Africa that has been dogging Anglo American will be welcome.

Breedon Aggregates – second quarter results

Breedon Aggregates will deliver their second quarter results on Thursday.

Land Securities – interim management statement

Commercial property company Land Securities, currently listed as a hold by the Share Centre, will deliver its interim management statement on Thursday.

Sports Direct – fourth quarter results

Investors have high expectations of Sports Direct after its encouraging fourth quarter trading update. They’ll want to know how the group is progressing with the development of a more profitable premium lifestyle operation and an update on overseas expansion plans. The online proposition will also be of interest.

SSE – interim management statement

SSE released their results in May and this interim statement is unlikely to deliver much excitement. Investors will be looking to make sure that trading is in line with expectations and there may be some commentary on industry regulator Ofgem’s call for an investigation into utility companies.
