Results round-up: Companies to watch this week
This is a big week for the retail sector as Sports Direct and Next prepare to update their investors.
Monday 8 September
AB Foods – fourth quarter sales
Tuesday 9 September
Fenner – fourth quarter sales
Wednesday 10 September
Kingfisher – interim results, second quarter
Kingfisher’s July trading update was disappointing, so investors will be eager to hear how the group is doing, particularly considering the impact of geopolitical issues on European trading and economic slowdown in China. With these headwinds in mind the group may provide a further update on any strategy to improve margins and reduce costs.
Sports Direct – interim results, first quarter
Barratt Developments – full year results
London Stock Exchange – second quarter results
Thursday 11 September
Ashmore -full year results
Investors will be looking for another increase in funds under management for this emerging market-focused investment house, hopefully as a result of net inflows. Any comments on the outlook for emerging markets will be of interest, particularly as Ashmore has had to cut fees and investors have seen margins tighten as a result.
Morrisons – interim results
Next – half year results
Friday 12 September
J D Wetherspoon – preliminary results
