Andy Parsons, head of investment research at the Share Centre, talks about the CF Woodford Equity

“This month marks the one year anniversary of the CF Woodford Equity Income Fund launch, and what a successful year it has been, both in terms of fund flows and performance. The launch was eagerly awaited by many and the continual flow of new monies since is a testament to the highly successful investment approach and management style adopted by Neil Woodford throughout his impressive career. The tried and trusted investment approach remains as strong today as it ever has, with the fund built around quality growth companies, demonstrating robust business models, solid management and strong balance sheets, such as Astrazeneca, Glaxo and BT.

“And whilst the top ten holdings will be very familiar to many investors, Neil remains firmly of the belief that the UK has a number of very small and occasionally unlisted companies that have real potential to develop over time. These companies constitute a very small part of the overall portfolio, but will add excitement and punch to it, should they succeed.

“Since inception, the fund has now reached close to £6.2bn and for those investors seeking a core UK dominated equity income investment, the CF Woodford Equity Income Fund may well be suitable.”
