Free cavity wall insulation for flat owners
Renewable energy company HomeSun is offering free cavity wall insulation (CWI) to those who live in or own flats in buildings of three storeys or more.
Tenants, owners, landlords and property management companies should apply to HomeSun by Friday 7th February before the “window slams shut on government subsidies”, following changes to the Energy Company Obligation or ECO funding by George Osborne.
The Chancellor announced in the Autumn Statement that the Government will be reducing the green levies on utility companies.
Insulating wall cavity traps heat inside homes while reducing draughts as well as condensation and can result in lower energy bills.
Tenants and landlords who are keen to take up the offer will receive free surveys, CWI and a 25 year guarantee, HomeSun said.
Daniel Green, CEO at HomeSun, said: “We estimate that there are approximately eleven million people living in flats across Britain and a high proportion of those will be living in buildings of three storeys or more. There is now a short window for those people to take advantage of free insulation for their homes, while the government funding is still available.
Why Life Insurance Still Matters – Even During a Cost-of-Living Crisis

“As we’re now in the height of winter with temperatures plummeting and energy bills ever on the rise, it’s a no-brainer way to save money on heating bills and have everything taken care of for you – for free.”
Landlords have been given an additional incentive to apply.
Under the Energy Act 2011, landlords will not be able to let properties which fall below a prescribed level of energy efficiency.
Fines of up £5,000 per property could be imposed for those falling short of the bar.
Interested parties should note that due to the way insulation works, an entire block of flats will have to be insulated at one time.
