Which degree subject offers the best salary prospects?

Students can be left with up to £44,000 worth of debt when they finish university, leaving many pondering the financial merits of higher education.
Now, new statistics published by salary benchmarking service Emolument reveal the earnings prospects of different degree subjects.
The report compiled from crowdsourced data, submitted anonymously by over 55,000 individuals, reveals insights into earning potential, such as how much graduates with different degrees can expect to earn at different stages of their careers.
Within five years of graduation, for example, the average salaries of Economics graduates are around 80 per cent more than that of people who studied Fine Art. And while Law graduates can expect to pocket £42,000, Media and Communications students will only be taking home £27,000.
