Two Premium Bonds holders have scooped the life-changing £1m jackpot this May, with both savers only having bought the winning numbers in 2019.

The first of the two new Premium Bonds millionaires hails from Nottingham and holds the maximum £50,000.

They bought their winning bond – 350FG197341 – in January 2019.

The second winner is based in Sefton, Merseyside and they hold £46,525 in the popular NS&I product.

But, they scooped the life-changing sum after only buying the winning bond – 371JL524811 – in October 2019.

Another lucky holder from Hertfordshire – with just £1,600 – has scooped £100,000, while an overseas bond holder has bagged £100,000 with a holding of just £500 after holding them since 2005.

Check to see if you’re a May Premium Bonds winner

While the jackpot winners find out on the first working day of the month, for everyone else, you can check if you have won a prize in May’s draw by using the nsandi.com prize checker, official prize checker app or an Alexa-enabled device from Wednesday 3 May 2023.

To check, customers will need their Premium Bonds holder’s number to use the website and the NS&I number or holder’s number to check via the prize checker app. At the same time, you can check for any unclaimed prizes.

However, you can get a sneak peek of the ‘high value winners’  (above £5,000) here today, which gives the prize value, the winning bond number, the holding, area and the date the winning bond number was purchased.

In the May prize draw, a total of 5,048,164 prizes worth £331.1m will be paid out.

There were 121 billion bond numbers eligible for the draw. Since the first draw in June 1957, ERNIE (Electronic Random Number Indicator Equipment) has drawn 621 million prizes with a total value of £25.7bn.
