Clydesdale and Yorkshire Bank to rebrand as Virgin Money
Clydesdale and Yorkshire Bank owner CYBG is to rename the entire business Virgin Money as it moves to “disrupt the status quo” of banking.
Yorkshire Bank will begin rebrand changes in late 2019 and Clydesdale Bank will begin in the second half of 2020, with all rebranding expected to be complete by the end of 2021.
The rebrand of the company’s B digital bank – including B’s flagship stores – to Virgin Money will begin this year.
A Virgin Money personal current account will launch in late 2019.
CYBG took over Virgin Bank in a £1.7bn deal last year.
Chief executive David Duffy said: “We have a clear ambition to disrupt the status quo with the new Virgin Money. The new Group combines the iconic Virgin brand, with its distinctive and brilliant customer experience, with CYBG’s technology, product expertise and know-how.”
