Brits are missing out on potential store rewards by failing to make use of loyalty cards in places they shop regularly.

According to a new survey, half of consumers are missing out on savings and money-off rewards.

When asked, ‘Do you have any loyalty cards for certain stores?’ 48% of those taking part said ‘yes’, but 52% admitted they didn’t have any, despite loyalty cards being an option in stores where they shopped frequently.

Of the respondents who said that they did have loyalty cards for certain stores, the average number held per person was three.

Mark Pearson, chairman of MyVoucherCodes.co.uk, said: “Loyalty cards are 100% worth having. In the majority of cases, they’re completely free to sign up for and you collect points as you spend; getting rewards sent though to you for your custom on a regular basis.

“To see that half of people don’t have loyalty cards, despite stores they shop at regularly offering them, is a real shock. They’re missing out on some great rewards and savings.

“I’d recommend getting as many loyalty cards as possible. The more the merrier in this case!”
