Amazon Fresh has launched a Tesco Clubcard price match to help shoppers amid soaring food prices.

The online giant said it had “matched and locked” the price on hundreds of own-label and branded products with Tesco Clubcard.

The Tesco scheme – Clubcard Prices – allows shoppers to get exclusive deals and discounts in-store and online when using their loyalty card.

Amazon Fresh has now launched its price match against this Tesco loyalty scheme to grab a bigger share of the food market and help customers amid the rising cost of living.

Prices will be fixed for at least four weeks, with new products added every week. Current items include 32% off Tropicana Orange Juice Original with Bits 1.75L for £3, 46% off by Amazon Stone-baked Margherita Pizza for £2 and 19% off Cathedral City Extra Mature Cheddar 550g for £4.45.

It comes as Amazon Fresh provided shoppers with a basket of goods which was 78p cheaper than second place Tesco, according to The Grocer’s study from 4 July.

It’s available for online orders only so it won’t work in Amazon Fresh stores. Plus, customers need to be a paid Prime member or have a trial to get the price match.

Prime members can benefit from same-day delivery where Amazon Fresh delivery is available: parts of the Southeast, Leeds, Sheffield, Portsmouth, Liverpool, Glasgow, Birmingham, Manchester and Newcastle.

Russell Jones, Amazon Fresh director, said: “We know that our customers are looking for ways to save on their weekly grocery shopping.

“This is one way that we’re helping customers get great value and convenience with groceries delivered at home with Amazon Fresh. Improving our shopping experience and giving Amazon Fresh customers even more for their money are key priorities for us.”
