Food price inflation hit 2.1% in February, its highest point for five months, according to the British Retail Consortium (BRC).
As usual, many of the deals on the aisles are reserved for holders of loyalty cards, while many shoppers face rising food costs.
Dan Evans, deals expert at Hotukdeals, said: “The cost of everyday essentials like bread, butter, eggs, cheese, and cereals is expected to keep rising as inflation continues its upward trend in 2025.
“Helen Dickinson, CEO of the BRC, has warned that prices are likely to go up across the board as the year progresses, citing ongoing geopolitical tensions and the looming £7bn cost increase from the Autumn Budget.”
Despite the price rises, YourMoney.com has scoured the aisles of UK supermarkets to round up the best ways to soften the blow in March. This month includes cheaper Easter eggs, wine deals and even VAT-free sun lotion.

Eager for easter?
Morrisons More Card holders can bag two extra large-sized Easter eggs for £7. There are 20 eggs in the deal, which includes Cadbury Mini Eggs Milk Chocolate Easter Egg, Cadbury Crème Egg, Galaxy Milk Chocolate Mini Eggs Easter Egg and the Maltesers Bunny Easter Egg.
The chocolate treats usually retail at £6, meaning you can save £5 with the loyalty scheme offer.
Morrisons is also still offering a free one-month delivery pass that can be used any time for online shoppers.
You need to spend at least £25 in your shop and need to be a More Card holder to be eligible. There is no limit on the number of deliveries you have in the month.
But, as the deal is a free trial, after your first month, you’ll be automatically renewed and will be charged £8 for the service.

For the fourth consecutive year, Tesco is not adding VAT to the cost of its sun lotion range, meaning shoppers can save 20% when protecting themselves while sunbathing.
Marianne Aitken, Tesco’s category director for beauty and personal care, said: “Covering the VAT cost on our Tesco Soleil range since 2021 has helped reduce prices for our customers, and this summer we’ll continue to help them stock up on what they need with a great range at affordable prices.
“What’s more, at Tesco, we think everyone should feel able to wear effective sun protection, which is why we have reformulated the range to be more inclusive, giving an invisible finish on all skin tones.”
