Halloween, wine and of course, Christmas, all feature in YourMoney.com’s monthly round-up of the freshest supermarket offers in the UK.
For drinkers fancying a tipple in the comfort of their own home, Sainsbury’s has slashed the prices on a huge range of red, white and rosé wines.
The biggest cuts are on the following bottles:
- Alta Vista Terroir Selection Malbec 75cl (was £18.00, now £15.00)
- Babich Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 75cl (was £13.00, now £11.00)
- Baron Gassier Provence Rosé 75cl (was £14.00, now £12.00)
The reductions have brought a barrel load of wines under the £10 barrier and, in some cases, even further below that threshold.

Like all the offers on the wine selection, up until 8 October, a 75cl bottle of Gavi costs £8.50 (was £10) and a Taste the Difference 75cl bottle of Primitivo will set you back just £7.
One of the cheapest options in the promotion is a Taste the Difference 75cl bottle of Pecorino, which, after a £1 price drop, is priced at £6.75.
Meanwhile, Morrisons, which was featured in September’s Best of the British aisles and slashed the prices of 2,000 products for loyalty card members, has launched a three-course dine-in deal that More cardholders can enjoy for £9, while non-loyalty scheme members pay £10.
The offer runs online and in stores until 8 October, when it’ll be £10 for all customers. It includes a main, two side dishes and a dessert, and the options include steak with black garlic, triple chunky chips and lemon and passionfruit posset.
Other main choices that might whet the whistle are coq au vin, crackling pork belly joint and chicken parmigiana.
Trick-or-treats and festive deals
To get you prepared for Halloween and the imminent arrival of trick-or-treaters, Lidl has launched its spooky sweets range, which starts from just 49p.

For more vintage Halloween options, flying saucers are on the shelves for 99p and a special-edition 150g bag of jelly beans is £1.99.
These spooky special buys will end once the stock runs out.
As is tradition for retailers in September, the Christmas countdown in supermarkets is well and truly on and Tesco is trying to lighten the load for parents with an up-to-half-price toy sale, though some items exceed that.
