Households can enjoy cheaper power due to the windy conditions, which allow extra renewable energy to become available.
The PeakSave Green Flex offer arises for British Gas customers when there is an excess of sunshine too. So, if you are working from home, it could be the perfect time to do energy-sapping activities like putting a washing load on or filling up the dishwasher.
To take advantage of the deal, customers need to sign up for PeakSave through an online form.
Once you have registered, you then need to opt in to the offer. The energy firm will email customers to let them know about the opportunity to bag a cheaper energy deal.
This offer is for customers with a smart electricity meter with British Gas. The amount of cash you’ve saved on electricity will appear as credit on your next energy bill. The energy price cap for the period from 1 April to 30 June 2025 stands at £1,849 after the regulator raised costs by £111 for gas and electricity.

It is the third consecutive quarterly rise, meaning it will cost an average of £159 more in April to power your home than it did at the same time in 2024. This was due to a spike in wholesale prices, according to Ofgem, which also recommended households to switch to a fixed tariff.
