If you’re a regular The Works customer and are part of the ‘Together Rewards’ loyalty scheme, make sure to redeem your vouchers by the end of the month.

Shoppers have just over three weeks left to redeem vouchers after The Works confirmed earlier in the year that it was closing its ‘Together Rewards’ loyalty scheme on 30 March 2024.

The value retailer, which stocks arts, crafts, toys, books and stationery, stopped signing up new customers to the scheme as of Tuesday 27 February 2024.

It first launched a loyalty scheme in 2013, claiming to be one of the first value retailers to do so. As part of its ‘Together Rewards’, customers could earn five points for every £1 spent at the retailer. Each point was worth 1p in return, with a minimum of 50 required to trade in a 50p voucher sent out four times per year. In short, customers received 5p back on every £1 spent.

From 30 March, no further points could be collected. Further, only those who earned more than 50 points between 2 January and 30 March 2024 are now able to redeem their vouchers by 11:59pm on Saturday 29 June 2024.

If you’ve lost or misplaced your card, The Works confirmed it can send you a new one in the post that will have the data from your original card. Contact customer services via the website or call 0121 313 6050.

If you need to return an item using a ‘Together Rewards’ voucher, The Works confirmed that, providing you have your receipts and it is returned within 28 days, it will issue you a gift card.

After the 29 June, you can remove the loyalty card from any online apps.

YourMoney.com asked how many customers were a member of ‘Together Rewards’ and the value of unspent vouchers, but The Works wasn’t able to share this with us, saying the figures were “commercially sensitive”.

‘Not an easy decision to make’

Gavin Peck, CEO of The Works, said: “After careful consideration, we decided to end our ‘Together Rewards’ loyalty scheme on 30 March 2024. Against a challenging economic backdrop, we have had to look at ways to maintain the most important thing for our customers – everyday affordable prices – whilst also making savings across our business. This wasn’t an easy decision to make, and we appreciate the news will have been disappointing to our customers and colleagues that used the scheme.

“We are exploring other ways to reward our customers, both in store and online, but for now our focus is to continue providing customers with fantastic value across our ranges. We have maintained prices on hundreds of our key products and continue to offer great deals such as our three for £6 on adult fiction and non-fiction books, 10 for £10 on kid’s picture books and two for £12 and three for £15 on toys, games, art and craft.”

Peck added: “We’d like to thank all those who have used the ‘Together Rewards’ scheme for their loyalty to The Works over the years. We will continue to provide them with the products that inspire them to read, learn, create and play at the same excellent value.”
