Have you won in October’s Premium Bonds draw?

Written by: Emma Lunn
The Premium Bonds millionaires in October 2021 hail from South Gloucestershire and Surrey.

The first winning bond number was 433SN401366 and belongs to a woman from South Gloucestershire. The winner holds £49,994 in Premium Bonds and bought the winning bond in January 2021. The win makes the winner the ninth Premium Bonds millionaire from Gloucestershire.

The second bond number drawn this month was 436WJ503244 and belongs to a man from Surrey. The winner has a total holding of £50,000 in Premium Bonds and purchased the winning bond in February 2021. The winner becomes the 27th Premium Bonds millionaire from Surrey.

Jill Waters, NS&I retail director, said: “We’re absolutely thrilled for our two winners from Gloucestershire and Surrey. They have both won a life-changing sum of money and we wish them all the best.

“Next month will mark 65 years since Premium Bonds went on sale and they are not just about the £1m jackpot – each month, NS&I pays out more than 3.2 million other tax-free prizes ranging from £25 to £100,000. Of these prizes, almost nine in 10 of them are paid directly into customers’ bank accounts or automatically reinvested into more Premium Bonds.”

Checking Premium Bonds prizes

Aside from the two jackpot winners, there were more than 3.2 million other prizes paid out this month between £25 and £100,000.

Customers can check to see if they have won a prize in October’s draw by using the prize checker, official prize checker app, or their Alexa-enabled device from Saturday 2 October 2021.

Customers will need their Premium Bonds holder’s number to use the website and their NS&I number or holder’s number to check via the prize checker app.

Customers can choose to have their prizes paid directly to their bank account or have their wins reinvested into more Premium Bonds, eligible from the next draw. Almost nine in 10 prizes are now paid in this way, and this is quicker, easier and more secure than receiving them via cheque.

October 2021 prize draw breakdown

In the October 2021 prize draw, a total of 3,277,723 prizes worth £94,234,500 will be paid out. There were 113,081,411,333 bond numbers eligible for the draw.

Since the first draw in June 1957, ERNIE has drawn 538 million prizes with a total value of £22.1bn.
