The bank has confirmed it will offer Help to Buy mortgage guarantee products but was unable to confirm any further details concerning launch date and product details.

Barclays joins a growing list of lenders publically declaring support for the scheme. Following Tuesday’s launch a string of high street brands including HSBC, Santander and Virgin Money have confirmed they will enter the scheme.

Challenger brands Aldermore and OneSavings Bank are the other lenders to state their intention to join the government scheme.
