The fee waiver offer is open to both new and existing customers who do not currently hold a Santander current account.
Customers who take advantage of the deal will have £36 paid into their account within 60 days of opening. They will then continue to pay the £3 monthly fee to maintain the account as usual.
The Santander Edge current account allows customers to earn up to £20 per month in cashback. Half of this (£10) is from council tax, broadband, and mobile phone bills paid by direct debit, while the other £10 can be earned from essential debit card spending at supermarkets and on travel, including fuel and train tickets.
The Edge current account also offers account holders access to the Edge Saver, paying 6% AER on balances up to £4,000. The Santander Edge debit card offers fee-free spending abroad, free use of Santander ATMs overseas and in-app money management insights through My Money Manager.

To qualify for the £36 payment, customers must:
- Open a Santander Edge current account between 9 September and 7 October 2024
- Deposit £500 into the account within 30 days of opening
- Still have the account open on the day Santander pays the £36 incentive into the account
Customers don’t need to use the Current Account Switch Service (CASS) to be eligible for the offer.
Customers who already hold a Santander current account on 8 September 2024 are not eligible for the offer, and neither are customers who have previously received an incentive payment to open a Santander Edge current account.
Customers must pay in £500 per month and have two active direct debits to benefit from earning monthly cashback.
