Two women – from Devon and Wales – have scooped this month’s £1m Premium Bonds jackpot.

The first lucky woman, from Devon, holds £1,001 in Premium Bonds, making her a Premium Bonds millionaire with one of the smallest ever holdings to win. The bond number is 404KX510146 and the woman bought the winning Bond in July 2020.

The second jackpot winner, from Wales, holds £10,051 in Premium Bonds and the winning Bond was an automatically reinvested prize from a previous Premium Bonds prize win in March 2013. The bond number is 202ZQ082477.

Jill Waters, retail director at NS&I, which oversees the draw, said: “The winner from Devon shows that, no matter how much you hold in Premium Bonds, you’re always in with a shot at winning the £1m jackpot. Each and every £1 Bond has an equal opportunity, which is what the magic of Premium Bonds is all about.”

Checking Premium Bonds prizes

Customers can check to see if they have won on the nsandi.com prize checker, official prize checker app or via their Alexa-enabled device from Tuesday 3 August 2021.

Customers will need their Premium Bonds holder’s number to use the website and their NS&I number or holder’s number to check via the prize checker app.

Get Premium Bonds prizes faster

Almost 9 in 10 prizes are now paid either directly into customers’ bank accounts or reinvested into more Premium Bonds. Having Premium Bonds prizes paid directly into bank accounts or automatically reinvested into more Premium Bonds is quicker, easier and more secure than receiving them via cheque.

August 2021 prize draw breakdown

In the August 2021 prize draw, a total of 3,231,548 prizes worth £92,906,925 will be paid out.

There were 111,488,327,613 Bond numbers eligible for the draw.

Since the first draw in June 1957, ERNIE has drawn 532 million prizes with a total value of £22bn.
