Selected Amex cardholders can get £5 back when spending £15 on eBay until the end of the year.

We first got wind of this offer from frequent flyer website HeadforPoints.

After contacting both the eBay and Amex press offices, we were told eBay was far too busy with Black Friday to send over the details. We’ve also waited an uncomfortably long time for the T&Cs from Amex which have yet to materialise.

But, YourMoney.com has seen a copy of the terms and we checked that the offer is working today, so there is still a chance to bag a fiver for a £15 spend on eBay.

Here’s what you need to know about the deal…

Amex cardholders should check their accounts to see if they are eligible for the cashback deal.

You can do this online or in app, and if the offer’s showing for you, you need to click ‘Save to Card’ to register.

Now the great thing about the £15 minimum spend to trigger the £5 cashback is that you don’t need to spend £15 in a single transaction.

As such, all your individual spends until 31 December 2023 count, and it also includes postage costs because it’s based on the total amount charged to your Amex credit card over the qualifying period.

But watch out that you buy from an eligible seller on eBay – that is, the order must originate from and ship to a UK location, and you must pay in pounds.

Also, you need to pay directly using your Amex card, so using PayPal won’t trigger the ‘free’ £5, neither will a Buy Now, Pay Later or finance option.

A statement credit should appear on your card account statement within 30 days from the date you made an eligible transaction but may take up to 90 days from the offer end date.

The offer’s valid once per card for the first 100,000 cardmembers to save, so go quick if you want to bag this deal.
