
Forecast windy and sunny conditions are set to result in more renewable energy being available for a short period, so customers are being urged to tackle jobs that require electricity to take advantage of the cheap rates.
The deal is open to any British Gas customers who opt in to a scheme called PeakSave, which is available to those on every tariff.
British Gas’ second half-price electricity offer of 2025 was on 28 March between 11am and 1pm.
PeakSave customers also get half-price electricity on Sunday afternoons.
Time-of-use tariffs
Several energy companies allow customers to save money when electricity is cheaper. Octopus offers free electricity sessions at certain times to those who sign up, whatever tariff they are on, while it also offers a specific Agile tariff, where the price customers pay for gas and electricity fluctuates with wholesale prices.

E.ON Next allows customers to get cheaper electricity between 7pm and 2am on its new Smart Saver tariffs.

For those who are on the British Gas scheme, experts at the energy company suggested tackling some energy-intensive projects during the half-price period.
“Customers can tackle jobs such as mowing the lawn, washing clothes or using the air fryer to prepare lunch, whilst saving on their electricity bill,” the company suggested.
