Existing Vanguard UK Personal Investor platform customers are being invited to register their interest in testing its new app.

Customers are receiving messages from the platform giant inviting them to “be one of the first to try our new app”.

The invite also revealed that Vanguard UK will be launching its new app soon and it is seeking views from users ahead of this.

However, no launch date was specified.

Of the clients who register their interest, Vanguard said it will shortly invite a randomly selected group to download and test the app.

A spokesperson added that numbers “are limited”, with invitations “sent in phases”.

The initial version of the app covers:

  • Account overviews: Sight of investment performance, fund holdings, and asset mix
  • Transactions: Sight of buy and sell orders, along with regular orders
  • Buying and selling: Single payment, regular payment and adding cash, as well as selling down to a bank account or cash

The Vanguard spokesperson added: “We have begun the phased testing of a UK app, inviting current UKPI clients to provide their feedback. In line with our proposition, the app is designed to be straightforward, user friendly and low-cost, providing easy access to investments for clients. The intention for the app, like the website, is to serve long-term investors, looking to put balanced portfolios together to achieve their long-term investment goals.

“We intend to learn from client feedback before launching the app in the UK.”
