Aldi launches fresh round of food and toiletry price cuts

In its latest round of price cuts, budget German supermarket Aldi said nearly 50 products will be discounted by an average of 7%.

Shoppers flocking to the supermarket – ranked the UK’s cheapest according to consumer champion Which? – this week and next will see prices reduced on a number of items.

This includes across toiletries, household goods, food and freezer favourites as well as cupboard essentials.

Aldi said the move is its latest in 200 already actioned in recent months in a bid to help shoppers’ money stretch further in the ongoing cost-of-living crisis.

Julie Ashfield, managing director of buying at Aldi UK, said: “We will always stand by our promise to keep our prices as low as possible for customers and this latest round of price cuts proves just that.

“That promise applies to everything from household essentials to high-quality groceries, all of which we want to make accessible to everyone, and it’s why we continue to see shoppers switch to Aldi.”

What’s on offer at Aldi?

Here are some example of items which face price cuts:

  • Saxon aloe vera/coconut oil/luxury/quilted toilet tissue 9 pack: £3.39 to £3.15 from 11/10/2023
  • Magnum kitchen foil 30m: £3.79 to £3.49 from 11/10/2023
  • The Fishmonger 10 cod fish fingers: £1.79 to £1.69 from 11/10/2023
  • Ashfields 2kg chicken breast fillets: £11.99 to £11.79 from 11/10/2023
  • Cowbelle salted/unsalted butter: £1.79 to £1.69 from 18/10/2023
  • Ashfields breaded/southern fried chicken breast fillets: £3.29 to £2.99 from 18/10/2023
  • Emporium Cheshire/Lancashire cheese 250g: £1.99 to £1.79 from 18/10/2023
  • Snackrite lentil chips 85g: £1.19 to £1.09 from 18/10/2023
  • Village bakery crumpet shapes – toaster/teddy 6 pack: £1.15 to £1.05 from 18/10/2023.

Earlier this week Asda and M&S announced moves to lower prices of over 200 products.
