The budget chain is looking for permanent and temporary staff to join its ranks during the build-up to Christmas, with roles available for managers, cleaners, and store assistants.
In addition to the jobs available in its stores, there are opportunities to jump on board behind the scenes too. There are around 1,500 roles on offer through its regional distribution centres, with the discount chain taking on warehouse selectors, logistics assistants, and warehouse cleaners.
As well as ‘market-leading’ pay for the new roles, Aldi also claims to be the only supermarket in the UK to offer its employees paid breaks.
The budget chain was crowned the cheapest supermarket ahead of fellow cost-considerate store Lidl, and while shopping there remains cheaper than most, its profit margins appear to be flourishing.
Despite slashing its prices regularly, sales for the company rose to £15.5bn leading up to December 2022 – the highest since Aldi first opened its doors in 1990.
The budget chain hopes to help shoppers cope with the ongoing cost-of-living crisis, with more prices set to drop during the festive season.
Kelly Stokes, recruitment director at Aldi UK, said: “It’s never been more important to us to make affordable high-quality food accessible to all, especially at Christmas. That’s why we’re looking forward to welcoming thousands of new colleagues to our stores and Regional Distribution Centres over the coming months.
“Our colleagues play such a vital role in keeping our shelves stocked throughout the year, which is why we will once again be keeping our stores closed on Boxing Day as a way to say thank you for their continued hard work.”
